A transfer from FCO to
Orvieto
takes less than two hours. Orvieto is a hill town with Etruscan roots. This will be our hub for further exploration of Umbria.

About half an hour from Orvieto is
Civita di Bagnoregio,
a unique hill town on an eroding tufa ridge.
Todi is a hill town with Etruscan and Roman walls. There is parking below the
flat town center with a lift to the town. We can visit Todi on our way from Orvieto to Foligno.

The drive from Orvieto to
Foligno takes about an hour and a half. This small city will
be our hub while we explor central Umbria.
Perugia,
the capital of
Umbria, is
half an hour from Foligno by car.

We can drive to
Assisi from Foligno in half an hour.
Spello, officially classified as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy,
is less than two miles from Foligno on the way to Assisi or Perugia.

From
Passignano sul Tresimeno
we can take a boat to Maggiore Island where they make lace. The town is about 45 minutes from Foligno.
Cortona
is actually in Arezzo. It's about 25 minutes from Passignano sul Tresimeno. Achsa studied here while in college.
